Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) is the common name for a camouflage pattern used by British forces, as well many other armies worldwide. The principle British variant is an extremely effective four-colour woodland pattern of moderate yellowish brown, greyish olive, dark greyish yellowish brown and black elements.
British DPM was first developed in the early 1960s and has survived, with no more minor slight changes to the colours and pattern, until the present day. Prior to to the advent of CADPAT™, British DPM was usually the winner, in personal concealment competitions.
