'Soldier 2000' camouflage
Republic of South Africa
South Africa has many types of terrain, ranging from the lush green forests of the Natal midlands to the arid, semi-desert areas of the Northern Cape. The 'Soldier 2000' camouflage pattern, developed by theCouncil for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is designed to be a 'universal' pattern, effective in all types of terrain, in different seasons, both by day and by night.
It is a five-colour camouflage, comprising leaf-shaped patches and small flecks of medium green, dark green, pale green and dark brown on an earth brown background.
