Metro
Republic of Poland
Frequently referred to as Urban Flecktarn, Metro is nevertheless a Polish camouflage pattern. Like Bundeswehr-Flecktarn, Metro is characterised by small coloured dots, rather than the more common large patches of colour; these dots produce a dithering effect, which effectively eliminates the boundaries between separate colours and thereby produces the illusion of more colours than are actually present. Like Bundeswehr-Flecktarn, too, Metro is a five-colour design, comprising clumps and spots of light grey, medium grey, dark grey and black on a pale grey background. However, it is incorrect to claim that this particular camouflage pattern is a variation of Flecktarn: the two patterns are actually quite different.
Metro appears to be used exclusively by Samodzielny Pododdzial Antyterrorystyczny Policji ('Independent Police Anti-terrorist Subdivision', SPAP) anti-terrorist teams.
