Uncover your potential', indeed! Once you stop ogling the girl, though, you might notice that this Australian Special Air Service (SAS) recruiting poster shows Australian Disruptive Pattern Camouflage to very good effect. [Image courtesy Brad Turner collection.]

Russian Federation
Both the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (Russian: Федера́льная слу́жба безопа́сности, trans. Federalnaya Sluzhba Bezopasnosti, FSB) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russian: Министерство внутренних дел, trans. Ministerstvo Vnutrennikh Del, MVD) issue regular army uniforms to their interal forces and special operations units. At the time of writing, the latest camouflage pattern to be issued to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is Flora, which is very effective in central Russia.
Unfortunately, a camouflage pattern that works well in the fields near Moscow isn't necessarily suitable to all of the diverse environments, in which Russian special forces are required to operate. For this reason most special operations units supplement their issue uniforms with commercially produced camouflage uniforms purchased by sponsors or out of their own pockets.
The commercially-produced 'reed figure' (Russian: камышовый рисунок, trans. kamyshovyy risunok) camouflage pattern is often worn by soldiers of the MVD. Known simply as reed pattern camouflage, in the West, this pattern was developed specifically for the tropical camouflage uniforms that were worn in Chechnya.
Like the earlier MVD Tigr pattern, kamyshovyy risunok camouflage exists in woodland variants and blue urban variants. The woodland version, shown here, is a three-colour camouflage pattern, comprising jagged, hard-edged black and dark green splinters on a yellowish-green background. As was the case with the 1990 3-Ts family of camouflage patterns, the design elements are aligned vertically, rather than horizontally.
