Soldiers of the Latvian National Armed Forces (Latvian: Latvijas Nacionālie bruņotie spēki, NBS) have participated in international operations since 1996.

It was probably at around this same time that the NBS adopted this four-colour woodland pattern camouflage. Interestingly, this particular camouflage pattern does not appear to have been developed in Latvia; it is in fact a very close copy of the Croatian woodland pattern camouflage.
