Duck-hunter spot (trial)
Republic of Poland
Presently, Wojsko Polskie ('Polish [Armed] Forces', WP are the national fighting defence force of Poland. The Polish Armed Forces comprise the Army (Polish: Wojska Lądowe), Navy (Polish: Marynarka Wojenna) and Air Force (Polish: Siły Powietrzne) and are under the command of the Ministry of National Defense (Polish: Ministerstwo Obrony Narodowej).
The structure which was imposed upon the Polish military by the Soviets was discarded after the fall of Communism in 1989, and the WP began to be re-organised to comply with NATO standards. As part of the process of modernisation, WP issued a new camouflage pattern, Pantera ('Panther'), in 1993. However, Pantera was not the only camouflage pattern under consideration: the four-colour duck-hunter spot design, shown here, was also proposed.
