IRIA woodland pattern camouflage is currently the standard issue of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army. It is a conventional four-colour woodland pattern — and it appears to be remarkably effective, if this photo is any indication. [Image: Amin Shakeri.]
IRIA woodland pattern camouflage
Islamic Republic of Iran
IRIA woodland pattern camouflage is currently the standard issue of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army. It is a conventional four-colour woodland pattern, composed of moderate yellowish green, greyish brown, and bluish black elements on a greyish yellow background. Although it is clearly based upon U.S. woodland, the two patterns are not identical.
According to a source inside the Islamic Republic of Iran, IRIA woodland pattern is commonly referred to as 'the Korean pattern', which suggests that Iran purchases at least some of its uniforms from the Republic of Korea.
