Uncover your potential', indeed! Once you stop ogling the girl, though, you might notice that this Australian Special Air Service (SAS) recruiting poster shows Australian Disruptive Pattern Camouflage to very good effect. [Image courtesy Brad Turner collection.]
Basij camouflage pattern
Islamic Republic of Iran
The camouflage pattern, shown here, appears to have been specific to the paramilitary Nirou-ye Moqavemat-e Basij (transliterad Persian:, literally 'Mobilisation Resistance Force') during the period of the Iran–Iraq War (22 September 1980–20 August 1988). It is thought that the three colours of the camouflage elements have significance in Shi'a Islam: green for Islam, red for sacrifice & courage, and black for death & mourning.
During the Iran–Iraq War, tens of thousands of young Basiji were killed on the battlefield.
