Republic of Angola
The Republic of Angola is a country in south-central Africa. It is bordered by Namibia to the south, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Zambia to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The exclave province Cabinda has a border with the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Angola was a Portuguese colony from the 16th Century until 1975. The country is the second-largest petroleum and diamond producer in sub-Saharan Africa, yet its people are among the African continent's poorest.
