IRIA woodland pattern camouflage is currently the standard issue of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army. It is a conventional four-colour woodland pattern, which is clearly based upon U.S. woodland. However, the two patterns are not identical. [Image: military.ir.]

Islamic Republic of Iran
The Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: جمهوری اسلامی ایران, trans.: Jomhuri-ye Eslāmi-ye Irān) is a country in Central Eurasia, located on the northeastern shore of the Persian Gulf and the southern shore of the Caspian Sea. It is bordered on the north by Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan; on the east by Afghanistan and Pakistan; on the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman; and on the west by Iraq and Turkey.
The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: نيروهای مسلح جمهوری اسلامی ايران) incorporate two types of organisation: the regular forces, comprising the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy; and the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (Persian: سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی, trans.: Sepāh e Pāsdārān e Enqelāb e Eslāmi, also known as Sepāh), to which English-speaking media frequently refer as the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRG) or, in the United States, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iran also has a paramilitary, volunteer militia force within the IRG, which is called the Basij (Persian: بسيج).
