The State of Palestine is a proposed country, its location including the Gaza Strip, which is currently controlled by the group Hamas, and the autonomously controlled West Bank areas, currently controlled by the Palestinian National Authority, an interim governing body set up in accordance with the Oslo Accords, and the outcome of peace negotiations started at the Annapolis Conference. Hamas and the Palestinian National Authority are engaged in a civil war in Gaza and parts of the West Bank.

The State of Palestine is recognised by around 100 countries. Several proposals exist for the possible borders of the future state.
